Job Description

Digital Graphic Designer

Desert Publications Inc., publisher of Palm Springs Life and other luxury lifestyle and visitor publications, seeks a Digital Graphic Designer to create compelling visual communications across digital, print, email, social media, web, and event marketing. The designer collaborates across departments to ensure creative work is consistent, effective, and aligned with established brand standards. We are seeking a highly detail-oriented designer who can take projects from concept through final production across multiple channels. The ideal candidate combines strong design judgment with hands-on production skills, understands how creative must adapt across platforms and devices, and can work independently while managing multiple deadlines and priorities. This is a full-time, salaried position located in Palm Springs, CA. This position is not remote. Responsibilities

  • Execute marketing concepts and campaigns from initial ideas and storyboards through design, production, and final delivery.
  • Create and build email marketing campaigns using online email platforms such as Constant Contact and SendGrid; understand responsive design and how email creative displays across devices.
  • Develop digital banner advertising campaigns, including animated and responsive creative for multiple devices and placements.
  • Design and produce creative assets for social media platforms.
  • Create and update website and landing page content using web publishing and editing platforms.
  • Produce, edit, optimize, and compress video for use in digital advertising and social media.
  • Work within established email, campaign, media, and event production schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Translate campaign concepts into cohesive creative across print, digital advertising, email, web, social media, and event marketing.
  • Repurpose, rework, resize, and revise existing marketing content as needed while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Prepare accurate, production-ready files and maintain strong quality control across typography, imagery, proofreading, and technical specifications.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3–5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably across both digital and print channels.
  • Solid understanding of email marketing, responsive design, and digital production.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments to ensure consistency of branding and messaging.
  • Strong understanding of concept development, visual storytelling, and basic marketing copywriting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with executive management, creative directors, marketing, events, sales, editorial, and other teams.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Commitment to staying current with design technology, software, digital platforms, and evolving production practices, with an eye toward improving workflow and efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain organized job folders, files, assets, and project documentation.

Technical Skills/Software

  • Comfortable working cross-platform (Mac and PC) and testing creative across multiple devices and operating systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver; working knowledge of Acrobat Pro and motion/animation tools.
  • Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with web publishing/editing platforms; knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with online email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact, SendGrid, or comparable systems.

Salary Range: $70,000–$74,000
